COVID-19 Call To Action

With the world-wide COVID-19 crisis, Roatan will be devastated by the loss of tourism.  At Nuna Academy, we are doing our part with helping provide food staples and basic supplies to our communities.

We are doing a grassroots effort with some local businesses willing to share our fundraising message to provide food and supplies where people are going hungry.  We are creating food boxes that include items such as: rice, beans, maseca, flour, powder milk, pasta, oatmeal, bananas, whole chickens, sanitary items, and other small items.

Consider even a small donation of $30 to provide 1 box of food, every gift helps! Also, many corporations offer matching donations, please check with your employer when you donate!

Our goal is to complete the first distribution of over 300 food boxes in the next two weeks; that will require a goal of raising around $10,000; that's about $33 per box. PLEASE help us reach that goal and sponsor a box of food to a Roatan family in need!  -Thank you!

Mission Solution

Our Mission is to find ways that offer sustainable solutions to compromised living conditions, health concerns and educational needs.

The Solution is working with and empowering local-nationals as often as possible to improve the general well being in the community being served.  We do this by connecting those like you, who can lend a hand up, to those in need.

Make It Count Foundation

Who are we and what have we done

  • Roatan

In 2006, Doug & Kaylene Walz and their daughter Blair, went to Roatan, Honduras in the Bay Islands to help build a medical clinic in Pandy Town, the poorest section of the island.

What was initially intended as a one time trip ended up turning into a life-altering experience. They couldn’t just go home and pretend what they saw didn’t exist. They knew more help was needed so they went home and founded the Make It Count Foundation.

Since then, the Make It Count Foundation has helped build another medical clinic in French Harbour, Roatan, as well as taken volunteers back for needed improvements.

    Make It Count is a Florida non-profit, 501(c)(3)  Federal Tax ID#: 20-5367324.

  • Tanzania

In 2008 and we partnered on the initiative of Small Steps For Compassion. This is the combined effort of loving and passionate people, eager to equip young people in the Mt. Meru region of Tanzania and make a lasting impact in our world.

They provide a loving home for 25 girls and a continually evolving school is providing quality education to almost 300 students. Teachers, house-moms, ground-staff, kids and Small Steps’ volunteers offer their unique gifts to transform the lives and community around them.

They are now a self-sustaining foundation.

  • Florida

Our work in Florida has been more individual based.  Make It Count has helped with disaster relief, food pantry supplies, medical, funeral and educational needs.

"I think God sometimes uses the completely inexplicable events in our lives to point us towards Him. We get to decide each time whether we lean in towards what is unfolding and say, 'Yes' or back away". -Bob Goff, Love Does
